Our Place Your Place
Our Place, Your Place is an exciting new venture and partnership between Project Taunton and Somerset’s Heritage Service which is providing people of all ages the opportunity to explore Taunton’s past, present and future. Funded through Dept BIS Transformation Funding and located in the former Peter Briggs shoe shop next to Past Times in the High Street, the venue opened on Monday 8 February and will remain open, Monday to Saturday 10.30am - 4.00pm, until 20 March.
March Programme
Following a hugely successful third week at Our Place which featured BBC's History of the World and a small exhibition of photos by Princes Trust volunteers focussing on the good and bad of Taunton, the March Programme is announced.
Heritage Week at Our Place Your Place
Heritage Week at Our Place Your Place featured a number of Somerset Heritage Service's experts including Richard Brunning. Close on the heels of last Sunday's BBC Countryfile, Richard gave his audience a fascinating account of the Somerset Levels' prehistory whilst Esther Hoyle, Chris Webster and Bob Croft attracted further visitors to the shop with their sessions on Researching Family History, Taunton Castle and the County's Roman Mosaics respectively.
Our Place Your Place Programme for February
The Our Place, Your Place programme for February includes half term fun for families on the theme of What Makes Taunton Special. All activities are free but booking is essential for some. Please call 07827 280 892 to avoid disappointment.
