It was announced yesterday that Taunton is one of only a handful of towns in the country to be given money to undertake studies into a low carbon eco-development.

The last day of ‘Our Place, Your Place: Taunton’ on Saturday 20 March will be an action packed day celebrating the heritage, art, food and music of Taunton.

Taunton’s empty shop project, Our Place, Your Place: Taunton, is this week focusing on the town’s regeneration, Project Taunton.

Green issues and the environment will be the focus for Taunton’s empty shop project, ‘Our Place, Your Place: Taunton’, next week (starting on Monday 1 March). The programme of talks and events ranges from Taunton Transition Town to trying your hand at willow sculptures, to the archaeology at the Taunton Gateway Park & Ride site at M5, Junction 25.  For full details go to www.ourplacetaunton.org.uk.

The success of Taunton’s empty shop project, ‘Our Place, Your Place: Taunton’, continues with Heritage Week starting on Monday 22 February.  It includes talks on local history, researching family trees and guided walks, plus the chance to bring along and find out more about objects you have dug up.
