Day Two - Goodland Gardens
Tuesday, 11 October 2011 13:16
I popped along to Goodland Gardens on my way to work this morning, introduced myself to R G Spiller’s on-site team and grabbed a photo as the first bridge panel was being removed.
The bridge is appropriately listed but consents have been obtained to enable the footpath to lead directly from Coal Orchard, across Bridge Street and into the Gardens. I asked what the plans were for the redundant panels and was shown the plan to reinstate them on the other side of the river, creating a balustraded return as you make your way towards Lidl. At the same time, the DLO’s tree surgeons were busy on the western end of the site.

This following the opening of the "third way" linking our bustling end of town to the amenities of Wellington Road and further promoting the wonderful shops and businesses on offer.
Overjoyed.
