The planning application for the redevelopment of Castle Green has been submitted by Taunton Deane Borough Council. An important part of Project Taunton, the plans for Castle Green are looking to transform the area into a bustling town square where people can meet and relax.

Local Firm Appointed to Landscape Taunton’s Flood Protection Area

The creation of a new green space for Taunton has taken a significant step forward with the recent appointment of landscape architects, Swan Paul, to landscape the flood protection scheme at Longrun Meadows.

The Taunton based company will develop the 65 acre site, accessible via foot and cycle paths, with active zones for young people, safe places for children to play and protected habitats for wildlife.

Students from Bishop Fox’s school recently attended a workshop led by Project Taunton and Yvonne Mackeson of the Genesis Centre to learn about the developments taking place at Longrun Meadows and come up with ideas for the new landscaping project.
