The overall objective of Taunton Town Centre Company Ltd is to work, with all stakeholders, to maintain and continuously enhance, Taunton's position as the premiere retail destination for the sub-region, through consistently sound and innovative management.

BID Taunton is aimed at improving the economic viability of the town to make it competitive with the rising standards found in other locations. Town centre businesses in a set geographic area voted to pay a levy for improvements to make Taunton safer night and day, improve marketing and events, provide better way finding information and improved cleaning. The funding is now in place and the projects are underway for the five year BID Business plan.
