Somerset County Cricket Club to Coal Orchard

The Cricket Club’s plans for their exciting extended international-standard ground, stands and cricket school are the catalyst for the Cultural Quarter with Phase 1 establishing the new Somerset Square, an attractive public space between the Cricket Club and the theatre.

Coal Orchard is the space designated for smaller independent shops, in keeping with those along St James Street, Middle Street, The Courtyard and Riverside Place. Apartments and studios will complement this scheme. Imagine Taunton’s version of the Brighton Lanes or Exeter’s Gandy Street.
