Project Taunton recently played host to Year 10 students from Bishop Fox's School. A whole day of workshops, tours and presentations took place explaining the town's regeneration and outlining the implications for the future.
The workshops included an insight by Gadd Homes into the extensive new riverside developments taking place at Firepool, an overview of the extension of Somerset County Cricket Club and a focus on sustainable development at the Genesis Project and the proposed new ‘park & ride' scheme.
Project Taunton also held workshops that introduced students to the rationale behind the regeneration, outlining what happens ‘behind the scenes', the partners involved and some of the issues faced.
In addition to this, walking tours were taken around the town's shopping centre with the plans for the new retail area explained and also around the proposed new Cultural Quarter which extends along the River Tone from Priory Bridge and includes the Brewhouse Theatre, Coal Orchard, Goodland Gardens and the Museum of Somerset.
