Project Taunton has announced the final three developers in the running for the regeneration of Firepool, the new commercial core of the town.

Taunton has begun to make great strides in improving its cultural offer, according to the first annual report from the Taunton Cultural Consortium.

The recent launch of Project Taunton - the pioneering regeneration of Taunton's town centre - was a great success. The ‘Future Perfect' event attracted more than 100 people, including councillors and local business people, many of whom signed up to be ‘Champions' of Taunton's regeneration.

Many regeneration schemes claim to be sustainable, but Project Taunton is truly pioneering, setting new standards for others to follow. Aspiring to be the first commercially viable net zero carbon development, the official launch of Project Taunton takes place on 22 June 2007 when details of the groundbreaking town centre redevelopment will be showcased in full.
